Discover Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Set (Featuring a Commander Precon Deck!)

The world's beloved pizza-eating heroes are arriving to the popular trading card game. The popular trading card game's publisher, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion at a exclusive panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a exciting addition or yet another crossover marketing move? Let you decide.

Check out below at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including key background. Everything listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle drops a couple of weeks after on March 27th.

MTG x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before diving into all the various special decks and collections on offer, let’s take a look at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion that were revealed by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 each, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.

Let’s explore a couple of surprising features. To begin, there's a new mechanic named Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where gamers can play powerful creatures into the game field when an attacker goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. The designers also used this chance to refine the ability a little (It is treated as casting, unlike the older mechanic). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.

“If we ever were to return to Kamigawa, it’s possible we’d use the original ability because that's where it originated and it is iconic to that,” an experienced designer explained. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be in standard, it's more likely that we'd use Sneak.”

That second variant of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai card, is among four cards with special art created exclusively for the expansion by TMNT original artist Kevin Eastman.

Additionally, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever, which allows playing game cards outside of your main deck, so was I. Yet according to Wizards, that's now a legal card in all formats of Magic.

In any case, below are the highly unusual full-art lands from the TMNT set:

As per Wizards of the Coast's current policy, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to ensure the new cards and gameplay elements meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the design for 15 months and we knew it was going to be in standard and which sets would be alongside it in Standard,” the designer commented. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”

For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a blue-red archetype focused on artifacts.

“They combine to offer the components for a fun Standard-legal deck,” he says.

Preconstructed Commander: Turtle Power!

Following a decision to create any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just a single precon, but it does come with six different legendary creatures that can serve as your commander based on how you pair them (five cards have a special Partner mechanic called “Character Select” that lets you start with two commanders in the command zone rather than just one). Check them out for yourself:

The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, though the price may rise due to popularity. Wizards indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards altogether, which means an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures shown above. (Doing some rough math, that also means approximately 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon comes with 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles version of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

TMNT Bundle (Regular)

As per usual, the company is selling a collection. It is priced at $69.99 and includes the listed items:

  • Nine Standard Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • Fifteen Non-foil land cards
  • 2 helper cards
  • One Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza-Themed Bundle

Here’s a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle costs $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • 1 Premium Booster
  • Twenty-five Non-foil pizza-themed lands
  • 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands
  • Two Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • Two Reference cards
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • One storage box

If you’re wondering what a “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card with all-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting Splinter adding toppings onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos available.

This special bundle releases a few weeks after the core set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is made for a four-player draft and is priced at $119.99. That will get you:

  • Twelve Play Boosters (the perfect amount four people to draft)
  • One Premium Booster (aka, the reward for winning)
  • 90 Non-foil land cards (to build your deck)
  • 10 Regular double-sided tokens
  • 1 drafting guide (a one-sheet instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Cooperative Play Set

Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic products specifically for new players. In this case, Turtle Team-Up is a unique product of decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.

The concept here that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creature cards included in the boss deck. The Boss automatically plays an additional card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
