The Opening Game Pass Games of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.

Across the gaming landscape, fans keep sounding the knell for Microsoft's gaming division. Xbox was recently outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites are now publishing content on PS5 topics for the first time. Last year proved to be complete chaos for the Xbox ecosystem. But if we're going solely off the upcoming Game Pass lineup in 2026, it becomes clear that Xbox still intends to draw people in with strong games on its flagship service.

The Available Now Titles

A pair of titles currently accessible as you read this, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, don't represent the biggest draws. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass soon that's deserving of attention.

Significant Forthcoming Releases

Come mid-January, the platform will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, an open-world game that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a space-faring criminal escapade. A further major acquisition is Resident Evil Village with its iconic tall vampire, previously described as "a superb mixture of frights and fights."

Intriguing Niche Additions

However, the more modest titles set to join the catalog are noteworthy here. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike that is incredibly fun, arrives January 7th — and it merits a playthrough regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.

The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in in about 15 minutes flat.

Atomfall, the stealth survival game by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Those with the top-tier subscription also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.

A Robust Selection of Games

Ultimately, these aren't the most groundbreaking additions to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service in the first place. However, this batch of games are very dependable. The lineup provides a solid mix of old games you might have missed and relatively recent releases that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — which makes them excellent choices to experience a revival on Game Pass.

You might need to brace yourself to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
